Translation & Data Sources

The verse text on this site comes from the World English Bible (WEB) Classic, a public-domain English translation. Our local source file was downloaded from the official eBible distribution as verse-per-line text. We retain book, chapter, and verse references so you can move from a generated line to its chapter.

Collection scope

The current corpus contains 66 books and 31,098 verses from the Protestant canon. A few numbered verse slots are absent in the underlying translation; the tool never invents text to fill them. Book names and order come from the source corpus.

Topic selection and search

Topic pages use human-curated reference lists. A range stays together as one passage in the draw, without duplicate passages in one result set. These thematic lists are editorial judgments and cannot capture every passage related to a theme. The search tool checks the WEB Classic verse wording, not every translation or the editorial topic lists. Read the context and compare translations when wording or interpretation matters.

Corrections

We review references and presentation against the source text. If you spot a mismatch, email info@bibleversebank.com with the page and reference.
